Summary Description:
The geological oceanography scientist will have a solid knowledge base of remote sensing.
Responsibilities:
Tasks will include, but not be limited to, the following:
- Develop new analytical techniques or sensor systems
- Analyze or manage acquired data using geographic information systems
- Build or develop databases for remote sensing or related geospatial project information
- Design strategies for analysis, collection or display of geographic data
- Perform other duties as requested

Qualifications:
- Ph.D. in Marine Science, Biology, Oceanography, GIS, Remote Sensing, or related field, and a minimum of 8 years of directly related experience
- Demonstrated ability to work independently within general guidelines and direction
- Demonstrated history of self-motivation and use of problem solving skills
Preferred:
- Knowledge of and experience with remote sensing
- Experience working with the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration
